The initiative for the establishment of the Balkan Olympiad in Informatics (BOI) came from Romania who organized the 1st BOI in Costantza, Romania .
Dr. Stelian Niculescu, Dr. Choria Georgeskou, Dr. Clara Ionescou were, among others, the driving force of that first unforgettable event.
